A microphone was placed in my hand when I was 5-years-old when my parents gave me a tape recorder as a Christmas gift...or was it Santa Claus? I can’t quite recall, but that’s when my love for storytelling began. I was introduced to still photography in high school, and with a 35mm Canon FTB in hand, along with my tape recorder, I discovered I could connect my storytelling to pictures.
I began by getting a Bachelor of Arts, from Edward R. Murrow's School of Broadcasting at Washington State University specializing in TV/Radio News & Journalism with a minor in Speech.
Upon graduation, I spent three years working for NBC affiliate KNDU-TV as its Nightly News Anchor, Reporter, Talk Show Host, Videographer, Writer and Video Editor. I then spent six years at FOX affiliate, KCWT-TV, as its News Director, Producer, Nightly News Anchor, Talk Show Host and Reporter. Those opportunities led me to far away places, allowed me to meet fascinating people, and helped make my dreams of working in Broadcasting come true.
Then, I met movie Director Stephen Spielberg who inspired me to take my extensive broadcast experience to Los Angeles. When I arrived, I was hired by the Walt Disney Company as its Senior Supervising Producer. There, I produced all Corporate Marketing/News video helping to increase the visibility of the Walt Disney brand. I was responsible for all project logistics, interfacing with clients, managing Resort partnership relations, writing scripts, handling pre-production details, plus on-site production, as well as interviewing key executives, and prominent personalities. I also managed all budgets and scheduling, hired and managed field producers, television crews, and editors to create impactful stories, all while meeting extremely tight deadlines.
I'm known for obtaining over $1.5 billion in media value during my Disney career though my creation of all outgoing marketing videos for numerous new Disney attractions, remodeled lands, red carpet Disney movie premieres, including the construction and the grand opening of Disney’s California Adventure Park, among others.
After eight years with Disney, I freelanced as a Director/Senior Video Producer. My clients included: Disney, Audi, Chevron, General Motors, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Nestle, The Food Network,
the TV Guide Channel, The History Channel, A&E and the National Geographic Channel.
Over seven years, I was the Director/Show Producer for the Live Edward R. Murrow Awards Show nationally presented by the Radio-Television News Directors Association.
Proudly, I look at my career, and with the same enthusiasm of the 5-year old girl who received her first recorder. I'm excited about the stories ahead of me, and am excited to continue to tell them through the eye of a camera.
